Home

Yes it does feel like home sweet home. After traveling with two wiggly children for over 20 hours, anything feels like home. It took our breath away as we walked into our house…no really it did. We had to climb 6 flights of stairs and we were out of breath. Our town is over 5,000 feet in elevation! We unloaded our bags and took out all our personal things. When Noah saw his blanket on his bed he jumped on it with excitement. I think he just knew it was his. Alleyah enjoyed unpacking all her toys into her room. She helped set-up things and also made it home. It was nice after the second night we were walking back to our apartment and Alleyah recognized our road shouting out, “were home!” We just smiled knowing the kids are feeling comfortable and settled too.

This week is a little of everything. Setting up cell phones, buying things for the house like a fridge, oven, and blankets. We have one week and then we will begin studying the language. Morgan will be at a university and Lori with a tutor at home. We will have about 16 hours of class a week, plus lots of studying and practice. We are ready to be able to have conversations with our neighbors. Alleyah knows how to say, “my name is Alleyah” in the language. Everyone thinks it is cute. We hope to travel to a village this week before school starts and visit some good friends. It will be nice to let them know we are here.

Overall, we are doing well and are all very happy to be here. Jet lag is waking us up at 5:45am, and putting us to bed about 9 pm, but that’s not too bad. Thanks again for all your thoughts!!! We could not do it without you.
